| Problems Faced |
Mavi Jeans needed a solution that would allow an efficient way to enter data for the company's own customer credit card into the databases located on the company's Microsoft SQL Server. Also needed was a similar application that could do the similar tasks for the company's purchase orders.

| Solution Strategy |
Mavi Jeans was using an application developed inhouse to enter data for the company's own customer credit card into the databases located on the company's Microsoft SQL Server. A monthly total of 2,500 forms were being processed this way while the required efficiency was 4,000 forms processed within a month. On the other hand, the transfer of purchase orders into electronic forms required 25,000 pages to be processed by 15 employees over a period of four days.
KETS offered Mavi Jeans a solution that utilized OCE's CGK Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) product family. Templates for different types of forms were designed using the form design tool for the suite. Some forms were redesigned for making them compatible with ICR software decreasing the percentage of erroneous data captured from the documents.
Forms that were recognized were converted into text files using data capturing technology. These data were indexed by KETS's DTS software and both the documents and the index data were stored in IBM Content Manager. IBM Content Manager provides utilities for routing the documents in workflows within the the company. The documents can be submitted for approval of employees and can be archived when they reach the end of their lives.

The company is planning to implement the project over a larger scale that encompasses the whole enterprise. In the long run, Mavi Jeans is expecting to provide remote locations with access to similar systems allowing them to transmit customer data collected at these locations to the related databases located at the company's headquarters. All these improvements are sure to give the company the competitive edge it needs to succeed in global markets.
